Our rubber clothing is cut from latex sheeting, made from natural rubber latex (NRL), which is a vital ingredient found in thousands of every day products and healthcare items. It can be found in items such as balloons, clothing elastic, adhesive tape, condoms, surgical gloves, elasticated bandages and many, many more. However, the natural proteins found in NRL can cause some people to have an allergic reaction. If you are allergic to this protein, you may have experienced reactions to kiwi fruit, avocado, banana, chestnut, potato, tomato, cherry, peach, and some other plant foods.
It is the body's immune system which reacts to proteins found in NRL, specific antibodies called IgE are hypersensitive to the protein. IgE- mediated reactions are the cause of this allergy, customers with this allergy are advised to avoid rubber sheeting/clothing.
It is therefore the customers responsibility to ensure they do not have this allergy before purchasing goods within this category. If you experience any itching, redness or swelling upon contact, remove immediately. Please consult your doctor or physician for more information.
How to wear ?
You may be looking at our latex rubber clothing and wondering exactly what it is and how is it different from other fabrics? We have been selling latex rubber clothing since 1995 and so now have a specialist knowledge of the material.
Latex rubber is produced from a natural liquid tapped from the rubber tree Hevea Brasiliensis over a period of several years, the tree is unharmed by this procedure and the plantations used are completely renewable. The resulting product is a natural material, formed into sheeting, with outstanding strength and unique elastic properties, it is also environmentally friendly in that it is completely biodegradable.
Our latex rubber clothing is cut from this top quality sheeting and then hand crafted into garments using specialist techniques, glues and equipment. We use three different weights of latex rubber to make up our clothing, depending on which each style requires for various aesthetic and durable purposes. Our latex rubber clothing is supplied in its natural format, with a black matt appearance and our moulded rubber will have a slight sheen. You will need to shine both types with a Silikon-Polish to get the high gloss finish you can see in our images.
To assist you in putting your rubber on with ease we recommend a dressing aid which will help you easily slide into the garment as well as moisturising your skin. Alternatively you can use talcum power (preferably non scented something like Johnson Baby Powder)
Latex rubber has long been a favourite amongst fetishists and club goers for it's uniquely sensual look, feel and fit, if you haven't experienced it before, you won't be disappointed with the results. Your latex rubber clothing will last for years if looked after correctly, please see our care of rubber instructions for more details.
Latex Care Information
Here are some basic steps that should help you care for, and get the best out of your new Rubber & Latex Clothes:
When putting rubber on, liberally apply talc or a silicon based lubricant to the inside of the garment, this will prevent the rubber from gripping your skin. Applying a small amount of powder will help you slide into your rubber clothing with ease and will not harm your rubber clothing. Carefully pull on the garment taking care not to pierce the rubber with sharp jewellery or long nails.
Polish your Latex Rubber clothing with a lint free cloth, chamois leather or something similar using liquid silicone. This will condition the rubber and keep it looking shiny. For a speedy, high gloss finish you can use silicone spray which is easy and dramatic.
After wearing your rubber garment it can be hand washed in luke warm soapy water, avoid using detergents or abrasive cleaning fluids/powders, a little household washing up liquid or soap will be fine. Rinse repeatedly until all soap has gone, then hang to dry, a shower or above a bath is perfect for this. Do not try to speed up the drying procedure in the microwave or on a radiator or with a hair dryer or any other similar heating appliance, this will damage your rubber garments. When completely dry, thoroughly talc the inside of the garment and then hang on a cushioned hanger and store.
Store rubber clothes away from heat, direct sunlight, UV light, salt water, chlorine, and 'waxed' clothing. Heat and strong light will make the rubber discoloured and dull, and can cause seams to weaken. Ideally, cover the garment in dark plastic (a bin bag is perfect) and hang in a cool dark place. Do not store under anything heavy.
Regularly polishing keeps your garments conditioned, supple and ready to wear. Properly cared for as above, your rubber clothing should maintain its shape, quality, and allure for years.
